Drop the followers export Instagram gives you and see who doesn't follow you back. Drop two from different days and see who unfollowed you in between. No password, and the file never leaves your browser.
Read in your browser. Your file is never uploaded, and we never ask for your password.
No export yet? Get it from Instagram in six steps
Your export is opened by your browser. The usernames in it never reach our servers.
Nothing to connect. The list comes from Instagram’s own export, so your account is never at risk.
Full or partial zip, JSON or HTML, old or new format, followers split across several files.
Instagram's own export, from Accounts Center. Checked on the current screens in November 2026.
On the web, open Accounts Center, Your information and permissions. In the app: your profile, the menu, then Accounts Center. Some accounts see Meta Account instead of Accounts Center.
Click Export your information, then Create export. Choose your Instagram profile, then Export to device.
Click Customize information, press Clear all in every section, then tick Followers and following under Connections and Save. The export stays small and arrives sooner.
Instagram preselects Last year, which leaves out everyone who followed you before that and makes them look like they never did. Choose All time.
Set Format to JSON (HTML works here too), then click Start export. Instagram may ask for your password on its own page: that is Instagram, not us.
Instagram notifies you by email when the file is ready, then it stays under Available downloads in the same page for 4 days. Download the zip and drop it here as it is, no need to unzip it. Keep it: it is your baseline for next time.
Instagram says an export can take a while to prepare (up to 30 days in its help center), and a followers-only export is the smallest you can ask for. One export shows who doesn't follow you back; a second one a week later shows who unfollowed you.
Instagram never tells you who unfollowed you: no notification, no list, and Meta's API gives business and creator accounts only the number. The export is a photo of your followers on the day you download it. One photo shows who is there, not who left.
So the page does two different things. With one export it compares your following with your followers: the accounts you follow that don't follow you. Some of them unfollowed you, many never followed you in the first place. With two exports from different days it compares your followers then and now: everyone missing from the newer file left in between.
The full story, with the one-person check and why password apps are risky, is in our guide on how to see who unfollowed you on Instagram. How many unfollows are normal at your size is in the follower growth benchmarks.
Yes, with two exports from different days. Drop the older and the newer one and the page lists every account that was in your followers before and is missing now. With one export it lists who doesn’t follow you back, which is not the same thing: many of those never followed you at all.
No. The zip is opened by your own browser, with JavaScript running on this page, and nothing in it is sent to OwlStat or anyone else. We count that a comparison happened and how long the lists were, never the usernames. If you ask for the email reminder, we keep your address until that one email is sent, then delete it. You can switch off your connection after the page loads and it still works.
Because the list comes from Instagram itself, through the export in Accounts Center. Apps that ask for your password log in as you from their servers, which Instagram’s Terms of Use don’t allow and which can get your account restricted.
Instagram has never had that list, and Meta’s API for business and creator accounts only returns how many accounts unfollowed, not which ones. The export is the only place Instagram gives you names.
Yes. An account that was deactivated, deleted, renamed or that blocked you disappears from your followers exactly like one that unfollowed you, and an export cannot tell them apart. Meta’s own unfollow count lumps them together too.
Any of them. The page reads the zip with only Followers and following, the full export with everything (even several gigabytes, split in parts), JSON or HTML, and the followers_1 and following files on their own if you already unzipped it. JSON with only Followers and following is the smallest and arrives first.
Every week or two if you want to know who left. The export carries no unfollow date, so the most precise answer you get is “between my two exports”: the shorter the gap, the closer that is.
Yes. Download the zip from the Instagram email on your phone, open this page in the browser and tap the box to choose the file from your downloads.
