Example response

What is an Instagram MCP server?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools on their own. An Instagram MCP server is the bridge between your assistant and your Instagram data: once connected, the assistant can pull stats, compare accounts and build a report by itself, instead of waiting for you to paste numbers into the chat.

Meta does not publish an MCP server for Instagram. OwlStat provides one. It reads through the official Meta Graph API, so the figures match what Instagram reports natively, and it works with any client that speaks MCP, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and Codex.

Why not just use a free Instagram MCP from GitHub?

Most Instagram MCP servers are scrapers. The difference shows up quickly.

Official Meta Graph API

OwlStat reads data through permissions you grant, so there is no scraping, no password sharing and no risk of your account being limited.

Real history, not a snapshot

A scraper only sees today. OwlStat stores data from the day you connect, so your assistant can answer questions about trends and past months.

Hosted and maintained

Nothing to run locally, no Python to install, no tokens to rotate by hand. When Meta changes the API, we fix it.

More than Instagram

TikTok and YouTube Shorts sit in the same workspace, so one connector covers all your short form reporting.
