By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.
If you connect a social account to OwlStat, we collect the identity of that account and the analytics the network makes available to its owner. This applies to Instagram and Facebook through Meta, to TikTok, and to YouTube through Google. The Google and YouTube case is described separately below, because Google requires it to be.
You can also follow public accounts you do not own, by username, without connecting anything. What we collect about those accounts is described under "Accounts you follow".
We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:
If you connect a professional Instagram account or a Facebook Page through Meta, or a TikTok account, we receive an access token from that network and use it to read what the network shows the account owner: the account identity, its posts and their metrics, and the aggregate audience information the network provides, such as countries, cities, age ranges and gender bands. Those figures are aggregated by the network itself and never identify individual followers.
We use that data only to show it back to you inside OwlStat and in the reports and media kits you generate. We do not sell it, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use it to build profiles of the people who follow you. Tokens are stored encrypted and are deleted when you disconnect the account or delete your OwlStat account. You can also revoke our access at any time from the settings of the network itself.
OwlStat lets you follow any public Instagram or TikTok account by username, including accounts you do not own, and keeps a history of public figures such as follower counts, post counts and engagement so it can show how they change over time. This information describes an account, not you, and is public at the moment we read it.
If you own an account that OwlStat is following and you want that history removed, write to data@tild.io and we will remove it.
The app uses the same account and the same data as the website. In addition to what is described above, it involves:
You can delete your OwlStat account yourself, from Settings on the website and from Settings in the app. Deleting it removes your profile, your connected accounts and their tokens, your reports and your media kits, and revokes the Sign in with Apple grant if you used it. Some records are kept where the law requires it, invoices in particular. You can also write to data@tild.io and we will do it for you.
The data are kept in our systems only for the time necessary for the Processing and the visualization, based on the user needings.
The User can ask for the interruption of the Processing or the cancellation of the Data at any time.
Our payment processors, Paddle and Stripe on the web and the App Store in the app, handle your payment data. OwlStat never stores a card number.
Besides them, we rely on a small number of providers to run the service, each only to the extent needed and under confidentiality: hosting and email delivery; RevenueCat for subscription revenue measurement on iOS; PostHog and Plausible for product and website analytics; Crisp for the support chat, which sees what you write to us. To know more about how those providers store your data, please refer to their websites.
If you connect your YouTube account to OwlStat via Google OAuth, we access and process Google user data as described below. This section applies to data obtained through Google APIs (including YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube Analytics API) and is provided for transparency and for compliance with Google's API Services User Data Policy.
Data we collect. When you authorize OwlStat to access your YouTube account, we collect: (i) your YouTube channel identity (channel ID, channel name, thumbnail) so we can display which account is connected; (ii) metadata and analytics about your YouTube Shorts (e.g. view counts, engagement metrics) so we can show performance in our Short-Form Optimizer. We do not collect or store your Google account password.
How we use it. We use this data solely to provide and improve OwlStat's functionality: to show your connected YouTube channel in Settings/Connections, to display your YouTube Shorts and their analytics alongside Instagram Reels and TikTok in the Short-Form Optimizer, and to refresh and maintain the connection. We do not use Google user data for targeted advertising, selling to data brokers, training AI models, or any purpose other than providing or improving your experience within OwlStat.
Sharing and disclosure. We do not sell, transfer, or disclose your Google/YouTube data to third parties for advertising or other commercial purposes. We may share such data only with service providers that help us operate OwlStat (e.g. hosting) under strict confidentiality, and only to the extent necessary to provide the service. We do not use or transfer Google user data for purposes unrelated to the app's core functionality.
Data protection. We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect Google user data, including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, access controls, and secure storage. Access to this data is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
Retention and deletion. We retain your YouTube connection and associated analytics data for as long as your account is connected and you use OwlStat. If you disconnect your YouTube account or request deletion of your OwlStat account, we will delete or anonymize the Google/YouTube data we hold in line with our data retention practices and your request. You can revoke OwlStat's access at any time via your Google Account permissions or by disconnecting YouTube in OwlStat Settings.
